Violinist/Violist Katy Rose Bennett enjoys performing in a variety of genres and ensembles. Classically trained in Nashville, Bennett learned an appreciation of all styles, from fiddle to pop to classical music, at a young age. She continues blending disciplines as violist of the Venus Quartet (Boston Conservator’s Honors Chamber Ensemble for the 2024-2025 academic year) while performing as an active violinist in ensembles such as the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and acting as Assistant Concertmaster for Firebird Pops Orchestra 2025-2026 season. Katy Rose graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she studied with Professor Lynn Chang. She is currently working towards a Master of Music in Viola Performance at her alma mater under the instruction of Professor Rictor Noren.
Katy Rose began working with music students when she was 14 years old, helping the younger students in her violin studio with their practices. Over the last decade, she has continued working with students while expanding her skills as a teacher by completing Pedagogy courses at Boston Conservatory, and adding piano instruction to her skill set. Katy Rose prioritizes fostering a collaborative, enjoyable environment for students to learn any genre that they wish. She believes in meeting every student where they are musically, laying a solid technical foundation, and encouraging musicality in every lesson. She has strong backgrounds in classical, fiddle, and popular music.
Please note: Katy Rose is well-equipped to teach all levels of students on violin and viola. For piano, she’s able to instruct beginning to beginning-intermediate students. For more advanced piano studies, please view our piano staff.

“Your concert last night was as meaningful an event I’ve ever seen in all my years of teaching. Extraordinary on so many levels.” – Professor Lynn Chang
