Valery Abril is a drummer, educator, and session musician known for her versatility, precision, and expressive musicality. In 2022, she was named a champion of the Hit Like a Girl international contest, standing out among thousands of entries from around the world. She is a professional musician at Berklee College of Music, she has developed a career that bridges performance, education, and cross cultural collaboration.

As an educator, Valery is passionate about helping each student discover and develop their unique voice behind the kit. Her teaching approach focuses on creating clear, goal oriented exercises that provide practical tools to help students reach their musical goals. She takes the time to identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring lessons to fit their individual needs and learning styles. Above all, she strives to make every class engaging, inspiring, and enjoyable, fostering both technical growth and a lasting love for music.

Her work spans a wide range of genres including Latin, jazz, pop, rock, r&b and fusion. As a session and live performer, she has collaborated with artists such as Roberto Pla in Europe, Phil Abernethy in the UK, Devon Gates, iconic jazz singer Banu Gibson, among others. Valery is also a dedicated educator who has led drum clinics and workshops throughout South America.
