Currently completing her Master of Music in Piano Performance at Boston University College of Fine Arts, Ashley is a student of Prof. Andrius Žlabys, and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant where she works privately with non-piano majors. She previously earned her Bachelor of Music from Taipei National University of the Arts, under the tutelage of Evan Wong. Her artistic development has been enriched by the guidance from distinguished musicians such as Thomas Van Dyck, Edwin Barker, Robert Sheena, Linda Jiorle-Nagy, Nicholas Stovall, Greece Chung, Ning An, Stephany Cheng, and Victor Cayres.
As a performer and educator, Ashley believes that music transcends words, creating moments of shared emotion and reflection. She hopes her playing can resonate with listeners, evoke meaningful experiences, and inspire new perspectives. Teaching piano is not just about improving technical skills—it’s about discovering a deep connection between the student and the music they create. Every student has a unique journey with music, no matter their learning style, different perspectives, and goals. Ashley’s goal as a teacher is to develop their individual needs, interests, and learning pace. With patience as the foundation to her teaching, Ashley emphasizes the importance of persistence, guiding students with encouragement and positivity.
Above all, the heart of Ashley’s teaching is the belief that music should bring joy. Mistakes don’t mean failure—they’re a part of growth. Whether for personal fulfilment or performance goals, Ashley hopes her students will carry their love of music with them throughout their lives, enriching their emotional and creative experiences with each note they play.

“I’ve studied with Ashley for about eight months, and in that small amount of time, I’ve noticed significant improvements in my playing. From technique to expression to sound production, she is able to teach and demonstrate very effectively. She is also very personable and understanding and makes each lesson fun and constructive. I recommend studying with her, you will learn a lot.” – Shawn S.
