Xiaohe (Grace) Gu is a singer, pianist and composer from Shenzhen, China. She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.M. in Professional Music, concentrating in Voice Performance, Composition and Music History. 

Xiaohe performs and teaches a variety of musical genres, including Classical, Contemporary (RnB, Pop/Rock, Jazz, Singer-Songwriter), and Musical Theatre. She has sung in English, Mandarin, Italian, German, French, Cantonese, and Japanese. Over the past four years, Xiaohe has held numerous solo recitals and band shows in Boston, Chicago and her hometown Shenzhen. She has also composed chamber/solo music works for instrumentation such as chamber orchestra, voice/piano (art song), and solo piano.

Since 2019, Xiaohe has been studying Speech-Level Singing with Linda Balliro, Associate Professor at Berklee, who studied with Seth Riggs (vocal coach of Michael Jackson, Madonna and Stevie Wonder.). In August 2023, Xiaohe completed the Your Voice Breakthrough: Pro Voice Teacher Mentorship Program and received her teaching certificate.

In addition to singing, Xiaohe plays the piano. She studied classical piano with Xiaopei Xu and Alice Chenyang Xu, and currently studies with Roberto Poli. She also briefly studied the Taubman Approach with Yoriko Fieleke from the Golandsky Institute.

Xiaohe’s pedagogy centers on helping each student find their unique and authentic voice through building a strong technical foundation and holistic musical understanding. She believes that, besides practicing singing, listening, attending live concerts, performing, and learning repertoires from the inside out all contribute to the path of a successful singer/musician.
