Jennifer Hyeongrin Ryu is a classical piano instructor with more than 13 years of teaching experience. She has taught students of
all ages, from 4-year-olds to adults. She has a versatile teaching style that can accommodate students
of all skill levels. Furthermore, she personalizes her instruction to match each student’s interests,
preferences, and knowledge level. Her ultimate goal is to make playing the piano a fun experience for everyone.

 

Ms. Ryu is currently studying for her Doctor of Musical Arts degree as a collaborative piano major at
Boston University and working at school as a graduate assistant pianist in the instrumental and vocal
fields. Also, she is working as a music director at First United Presbyterian Church in Cambridge.

She received two Masters degrees in piano performance and a collaborative piano major at
the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) with professors Soyeon
Kate Lee and Kenneth Griffiths. While obtaining her Masters degree, she was an instrumental and vocal
accompanist graduate assistantship for three years. She played 40 recitals and masterclasses with
instrumentalists and singers at CCM.

After completing her Masters degree, she worked as a pianist at The Music Association of South
Korea. In addition, she worked at Hanyang University as a studio pianist in a voice studio and
a childrens choir piano accompanist. Also, she made a recording of Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 2
with violinist Seunghye Hong and released an album of Beethoven’s Complete Violin Sonatas on Spotify.

She had recitals as a collaborative pianist at Sejong Chamber Hall, Mozart Hall, and Eyelove Art
Center in South Korea. In Boston, she participated in recitals at Marsh Chapel at Boston University
and Harvard Musical Association. Additionally, she participated in the Wintergreen Music Festival as
a fellow collaborative pianist in the summer of 2022. She had many piano competitions and won awards,
including the Seong Jung, Eumakjournal, Sungshin University, and Seoul City Philharmonic Orchestra Competition.
