Marie Leou is a native of Seattle, WA, where she began playing violin at age 4. She has soloed with orchestras across the country, received top prizes in local and international competitions, and been invited to perform at venues such as Carnegie Hall. While based in Seattle, Marie appeared as a soloist with the Seattle Symphony, performed concerts sponsored by the Seattle Chamber Music Society, and was a guest performer on Seattle’s 98.1 FM.
In addition to solo performance and teaching, Marie enjoys chamber and orchestral music. She loves collaborating with other musicians and previously served as concertmaster of the Amherst College Symphony Orchestra and NAfME All-NW Orchestra. In Boston, she performs with Volunteer Musicians for the Arts and the Longwood Symphony Orchestra.
Marie has years of experience working with students of all levels and is passionate about teaching and sharing the joy of classical music. She focuses on building fundamental techniques, cultivating performance skills, and helping students develop their artistic voices. Above all, Marie is committed to creating a supportive and nurturing environment that is student-centered and helps students achieve their personal goals.
