Guitar, Songwriting

As a former long-time guitar pupil himself, Luke has a deep understanding of and appreciation for the need to keep lessons interesting for the student. He is always more than happy to provide a detailed lesson plan for those seeking guidance but goes into every lesson with the philosophy of “Lessons are always based around what the student’s musical interests are.” His unique blend of real-world, industry experience as well as musical education at the highest levels affords him the ability to extract teaching points from any genre of music and make it relatable and fun to the student, regardless of their skill level or age. He’s well-positioned to help students prepare for events such as Song Night and Jam Night. He strongly believes in finding creative ways to not only explain how to understand musical topics, but why those topics are the way they are.

Luke has 11+ years of teaching experience – both privately and with schools, including students of all ages and skill ranges. He has an undergraduate degree in songwriting and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in film scoring, both at Berklee College of Music. He toured extensively from 2005 to 2016, both as a headliner and in support of artists including Bon Jovi, Carlos Santana and Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. He has sold songs to movies, played guitar in countless sessions for TV commercials and has scored two films with a third upcoming. His ability to teach students from many different angles of the music industry combined with a carefully curated lesson plan designed specifically for each individual student will result in engaging, fun and informative lessons with progress guaranteed!

“Luke Mulholland worked privately with my son, Lukas, for two years prior to our relocation out of state. Lukas thrived under Luke’s instruction and guitar became not only a musical interest for my son, but also a way for him to increase his concentration and focus overall. Luke Mulholland is one of the most gifted musicians I have ever met, and his teaching skills are enhanced by his genuine interest in the student’s musical development.” – Larissa, mother of private student.
