Vocalist, composer and educator Priya Carlberg is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and is an active member of the Boston music scene as a singer-songwriter, vocalist and composer as well as in the world of jazz, improvisation, rock, and free improvisation. She has been deeply rooted in and exposed to the jazz tradition from a very early age, having been brought up in a household of musicians. Priya began her classical piano training at age 5 and later on acquired jazz piano and improvisation skills which have been critical to her development as a composer and songwriter, making her a well rounded musician.

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of vocal technique and the pop/rock/jazz/classical repertoire with her students and most importantly she believes in catering to her students’ needs and interests. Priya is also able to teach piano skills including harmony (voicings, chord symbols, improvisation), accompaniment, sight reading as well as intermediate level classical piano repertoire.
