Rick Landwehr is a drummer/composer/educator based in Boston. Rick currently perfoms with Eccentric Orbit, Tamandua, Ra Quintet, The Boston Jazz Trio and Colin Stack’s Novelty Act. He is the author of the book Drummer’s Guide to Odd Time Signatures (Alfred/National Guitar Workshop). He has played and/or recorded with the Detroit/Ann Arbor-based progressive/alternative rock band Ape 7, Boston-based circus band Cirkestra and Boston-based roots rockers Lemonpeeler. He also does freelance work and has played with local songwriters such as Michael Hayes and Micah Howeson, worked in local music theater productions (Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors) and played on the soundtrack to the film Darkon.
In addition to teaching at Page Music Lessons, Rick was a faculty member at the National Guitar Workshop where he has performed with guitar heroes Vernon Reid and Gary Hoey. Rick is a proud endorser of Vic Firth drum products, Evans drums heads and Puresound snare wires.
