Dr. Reddix is an active music educator and has been teaching private piano lessons, group piano, music theory, and aural skills to students of all ages and skill levels around the country for the last eight years. He thinks of his teaching style in terms of the constructivist perspective, striving to integrate technical knowledge and musical skills while relating to each specific student and tailoring his teaching to suit their needs and goals. Above all Jonathan wants his students to have an enjoyable learning experience that fosters a love of music and gives them the tools they need to play with technical prowess. His experience teaching collegiate aural skills/theory helps integrate elements of foundational classical musicianship into his piano lessons, while his comfort with a wide range of styles and repertoire ensures that students with a variety of interests can benefit from his teaching. From the complete beginner who’s goal is to play new age or popular arrangements for themselves to the seasoned classical pianist striving to bring Beethoven and Brahms to the concert hall, Jonathan can help guide anyone on their personal journey in music.

“Jonathan’s teaching is clear and easy to understand, he always tries to meet you where you are and approaches each of us with unique feedback based on our needs. Taking lessons with him has really opened new doors for my technique and interpretive instincts!” – Suzan D. (student)
