He thinks of his teaching style in terms of the constructivist perspective, striving to integrate technical knowledge and musical skills while relating to each specific student and tailoring his teaching to suit their needs and goals. Above all Jonathan wants his students to have an enjoyable learning experience that fosters a love of music and gives them the tools they need to play with technical prowess. His experience teaching collegiate aural skills/theory helps integrate elements of foundational classical musicianship into his piano lessons, while his comfort with a wide range of styles and repertoire ensures that students with a variety of interests can benefit from his teaching.
