Ira Klein is a guitarist, banjoist, producer, composer, and songwriter from Jerusalem, Israel.
In 2017, Ira moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where he immersed himself in American roots music. At Berklee, Ira was a recipient of the Fletcher Bright Endowed Scholarship and the Professional Music Department Achievement Award. Additionally, he served as a Guitar Accompanist for the Vocal and String departments. Ira has performed internationally in venues such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Harvard University’s Carpenter Center for Visual Arts, Club Passim, and festivals such as FreshGrass Mass MOCA, Folk Alliance International, and Red Sea Jazz Festival.
Reflecting his work across a variety of musical styles such as folk, blues, rock and jazz, Ira is passionate about working with his students to develop a solid and flexible creative toolbox. As an educator, Ira emphasizes the joy of music making and loves guiding students in learning how to practice efficiently. He believes that in addition to musical skill, good practice skills promote the holistic wellness of the student. Ira aspires to promote a sense of curiosity and wonder in his students through the cultivation of listening skills, providing students with a space to actively ask questions, make mistakes, and achieve progress.
