He holds a B.M. in cello performance and composition from Ithaca College, as well as a Masters in cello performance from Boston University. Currently earning a Performance Studies Certificate in Contemporary Classical Music from Boston Conservatory under Rhonda Rider, David performs with the contemporary ensemble there, as well as freelance performing in the greater Boston area. David has attended many summer festivals, including Aria Academy, Chautauqua Institution, Castleman Quartet Program, Kinhaven Young Artists Seminar, Brevard Music Center, Wintergreen Summer Music Academy, Interlochen Summer Arts Academy, Apple Hill, and Music Mountain. David is also an active composer and performer of contemporary music.

David has previously taught both as a private instructor, through music schools in the central NY area and at Ithaca College. As a cello and piano instructor, he is focused on providing a nurturing and exploratory space for students to find their passion with their instrument. Early lessons focus on approaching the instrument in a relaxed a freeing way, finding a physical setup that will enable the student to have the most flexibility in performance. Beginning cello students typically use Suzuki method books, and Faber for beginning piano, but the curriculum is frequently adjusted based on the student’s interests and goals.
